The key ingredients in Shu Uemura Ultime8 Cleansing Oil are:

Japanese Tsubaki Oil, otherwise known as Camellia Japonica Oil, is a nourishing oil, sourced from Toshima Island in Japan, and is Shu Uemura’s signature oil. This super light oil contains high levels of Oleic Acid, an Omega 9 fatty acid, which replenishe and strengthen the skin  barrier. This intensely moisturising oil has been a treasured beauty secret of Japanese women.

Jojoba Seed Oil soothes, hydrates and balances the skin. It has the same molecular structure as the skin’s own oils, making it perfect for all skin types. It also offers antioxidant protection, has anti-inflammatory effects and has some antibacterial qualities too.

Soybean Oil, or Glycine Soja, contains isoflavones, which reduce the excess transfer of melanin to the skin’s surface. Additionally, it’s a good antioxidant, containing specific compounds that help protect the skin from UV damage. Soybean Oil contains a blend of fatty acids that are soothing and softening, and help  maintain the skin barrier.

Phospholipids pull in water from the surrounding air and hold it in the skin. And they do this without being occlusive. Additionally, phospholipids replenish those lost from the skin due to cleansing and environmental factors.

Panax Ginseng Root Extract is a great multitasker that boosts hydration, reduces rough texture, evens out skin tone and firms the skin, making those wrinkles  look less visible. It’s also a source of antioxidants and Vitamins B and D. These two vitamins increase circulation and oxygenation of the skin, which helps with collagen production.

Bamboo Extract moisturises, supports healing and reduces melanin production. It can mildly refine the skin without grittiness or irritation.

I love this product so, so much. I’ve tried The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Oil and the Boscia Makeup Breakup, and this outdoes them both. It has the right amount of slip, smells heavenly (spa-like) and melts away makeup like a dream. Once rinsed with water, it turns into this white milky texture and leaves your face feeling deeply nourished and soft like a baby’s bottom…
