How probiotics help the skin

Aurelia London’s unique technology, PROTIDA, targets immune triggers in the skin, which can be set off due to a variety of factors.

The brand uses a non-live probiotic derived from Bifidobacteria. The probiotic helps in cell-to-cell communication in the skin, that is the sending of messages telling skin cells what to do. This probiotic is then combined with a milk peptide.  This creates a probiotic milk peptide that seeks to activate the skin to produce more collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin (responsible for skin’s support). These components of the skin are what make skin appear supple, toned and youthful.

More technically, according to Aurelia London,  the probiotic milk peptide delivers an active network of natural signalling molecules, including Transforming Growth Factor β (TGF- β), which stimulate fibroblast activity and restore the extracellular matrix. The result is skin that looks and feels firmer. Aurelia London’s studies have shown an increase in fibronectin synthesis of 220%, collagen synthesis of 140% and 1900% in hyaluronic acid. In addition, there was an improvement in skin smoothness, wrinkle depth and the overall structure of the skin.
