The blend of chemical exfoliants dissolves the bonds that hold down the dead skin cells while the physical exfoliants sweep them away.

Key ingredients

The key active ingredients in the Necessaire Body Exfoliator are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid (BHA), Bamboo Charcoal and Volcanic Pumice.

Glycolic Acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that refines the skin, increases skin hydration, improves dullness and reduces the look of hyperpigmentation. It also has anti-ageing benefits. When used in the right pH and concentration, Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid can also firm and thicken the skin.

Lactic Acid, like Glycolic Acid, is an AHA that is a keratolytic. That is, it exfoliates dead skin cells from the skin’s surface and increases cell turnover. This makes skin look clearer, brighter and healthier.

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that reduces the buildup of dead skin cells. In addition, it decreases inflammation, redness and clogged pores, which makes it useful in both anti-ageing and acne formulations.

Volcanic Pumice and Bamboo Charcoal are ground into fine particles and added to the formulation to provide a level of physical exfoliation. The Bamboo Charcoal also helps draw out bacteria and impurities from the skin.

These ingredients give this formulation its characteristic black speckled look.

You’ll also find Glycerin, Niacinamide, Vitamin E and and Marula Oil in this body exfoliant.
