Why I’m From Rice Toner?

I’m From Rice Toner is high in Rice Water Extract, an ingredients used by women in South Korea, Japan and China since ancient times. It contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and delivers proven anti-ageing benefits. And it does all this while being gentle and soothing.

I’m From uses a specific breed of rice, Goami, which is high in fibre. Rice bran is rich in more than 100 antioxidant compounds, including Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid and Oryzanol. It also contains micronutrients, omega-3 fatty acids and polysaccharides. These polysaccharides are naturally found in the skin and are critical to skin health. They help with skin hydration, as well as repair and renewal.

This toner also contains other active ingredients, including Niacinamide, Purslane Extract, Amaranth Seed Extract and Adenosine.

I’m From Rice Toner ingredients

This toner contains about 75% Rice Extract (Oryza sativa) and Rice Bran Extract. The species of rice used, Goami rice, is rich in nutrients and beneficial compounds.

Rice Extract contains a special peptide that has anti-ageing properties. This peptide protects the skin from a naturally occurring enzyme that destroys the collagen and elastin in our skin. The Rice Bran Extract has antioxidant benefits and helps with skin renewal by providing gentle exfoliation and improving hydration.

Niacinamide restores the skin barrier, evens out tone, minimises the appearance of pores and helps reduce acne breakouts. Niacinamide is up there with Vitamin C and Retinol when it comes to anti-ageing benefits. This Vitamin B3 ingredient is a powerhouse that covers all the bases and a good one to on an ingredients label.

Purslane Extract is an antioxidant with soothing and anti-ageing properties. It’s rich in vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids and polysaccharides (hydrating sugars). Of particular interest is its content of the compounds Glutathione and Genistein. Glutathione is a super antioxidant that protects the skin from premature ageing. Genistein has been found in studies to reduce dryness, wrinkling and sun damage.

Amaranth Seed Extract has a high content of Squalane and is helpful in treating dry and irritated skin. Squalane replenishes the skin’ surface lipids and strengthens the barrier function. This extract also contains high levels of peptides and polysaccharides, which help the skin hold onto water.

Adenosine works synergistically with Niacinamide. Adenosine has been found to be a cell-signalling ingredient. It calms inflammation, helps with skin repair; improves skin firmness and strengthens the skin barrier. As an anti-ageing ingredient, Adenosine has been shown to smooth the appearance of the skin, likely due to the stimulation of collagen production.

The toner is milky white and has a light liquid texture. It absorbs well and doesn’t leave skin feeling oily or sticky.

This is actually my first K-beauty product, and I bought it because influencer James Welsh kept bragging about how amazing this was … I’m literally on my fourth bottle, as it does wonders for my skin… I will be sticking with what works for me and my skin, and that’s this toner. ❤
