Description
Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm is a decadent balm that melts makeup, soothes the skin and illuminates the complexion.
This beautiful cleansing balm rivals the big names of Eve Lom, Emma Hardie and Elemis.
But unlike these cleansing balms, it contains only natural-origin ingredients and no lanolin, mineral oil or questionable chemicals.
In a battle between all these big names, we’d still put the Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm at the top of the list.
Why Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm?
Skin care love comes in two different types. Love at first use. And love that grows with every use. For us, this cleansing balm fell into the second type.
Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm uses a blend of luxurious botanical oils.
It has just the right amount of heavenly fragrance from essential oils to relax and uplift, but not overwhelm.
And, unlike many balms, it rinses well so that your face isn’t left feeling like it has greasy residue.
Your skin will feel amazingly soft and supple.
Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm ingredients
The stars of the show is blend of luxurious botanical oils: Grape, Sunflower, Meadowfoam, Prickly Pear and Pumpkin seed. These cold-pressed oils dissolve and lift away makeup lift while protecting your skin’s natural health. Cold-pressed oils are purer and retain more of their natural beneficial properties.
Grapeseed Oil is a super lightweight oil that’s protective, balancing, moisturising and soothing. Grapeseed Oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants, specifically polyphenols, to fight fine lines, sun spots and sagging.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil contains beneficial fatty acids, amino acids, phytosterols and antioxidants. Fatty acids strengthen the skin’s barrier function. This oil is particularly high in Omega 6, which helps with inflammation, healing and renewal. Amino acids are essential for healthy skin. They strengthen the skin’s defences, maintain its healthy appearance and enhance its resilience. Phytosterols protect and promote collagen in the skin. Prickly Pear Seed Oil also has antioxidant benefits.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil is a wonderfully moisturising, softening and anti-ageing oil. It seals in moisture, balances sebum production and reduces oxidative stress in the skin caused by UV exposure and pollutants.
Pumpkin Seed Oil is rich in Vitamin E, Zinc and fatty acids, specifically Omega 3 and Omega 6. These fatty acids support the structural health of the skin and strengthen the skin barrier so it can fend off stressors and retain moisture. The antioxidants help counter damage caused by free radicals.

Pestle & Mortar Erase Cleansing Balm review
Pestle & Mortar’s [cleansing] system is a cut above the rest. This is vain, but the non-fussy black-and-white packaging looks aggressively elegant in my bathroom cabinet. Additionally, unlike industry favourite, Eve Lom, Erase and Renew are developed without much maligned mineral oil. Most important, the system simply cleans my skin better. It’s hard to find face washes that simultaneously cleanse well and feel good. That this double-cleansing system does both and is more than a small victory.
