Retinal (Retinaldehyde) is  used in an encapsulated form at a concentration of 0.06%. Retinal is an advanced form of Retinal that’s proven to work  up to 11 times faster than Retinol. It’s been found to be effective in improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, uneven tone and rough texture. Retinal has direct antibacterial properties, which also makes it helpful for those prone to breakouts.

Hyaluronic Acid has a unique ability to attract and retain up to 1000 times its own weight in water. This ingredient draws moisture from the surrounding atmosphere and draws it into the skin. Skin feels and looks more plump and supple.

Vitamin E is a remarkable and reliable antioxidant that counters free radicals and reduces their ability to damage the skin. It also helps stabilise the Retinal so that it retains its potency longer.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a new generation of Vitamin C that has exceptional stability and better penetration than L’Ascorbic Acid. It provides antioxidant protection against UVB and UVA rays, increases collagen synthesis and reduces  melanogenesis in skin cell cultures by more than 80%, meaning it brightens the skin’s appearance.

Medik8 Crystal Retinal Review

The difference between using Medik8 on my skin has been astounding. This retinol is .. wow. Genuinely noticing improvements in my skin texture and appearance. Word of caution, though, do not overuse it and introduce it gently otherwise it will sensitise the skin. Patience is very much key with this product. I’m still only using it max twice a week, and happy to continue for the foreseeable future because that’s what my skin can tolerate — and it’s still working!
