Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Ingredients

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream contains a host of beneficial ingredients, including Guaiazulene, Centella Asiatica, Ceramide, NP, Purslane and peptides.

Guaiazulene, a derivative of Azulene and is derived from Chamomile Oil, is rich in antioxidants. It helps defend the skin against free radical damage, while also having anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.  Guaiazulene can help reduce redness and irritation, and make the skin feel calmer. Additionally strengthen the skin barrier so it’s better able to protect itself against environmental and chemical aggressors.

Centella Asiatica, also known as Tiger Grass, has proven antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin cell regenerating properties. It’s particularly known for its ability to help rebuild the skin barrier and promote repair. And there’s some evidence to suggest it can help skin recover from the visible effects of sun damage.

As an antioxidant, Centella Asiatica prevents premature ageing of the skin. Additionally, it’s rich in amino acids, which are essential to skin health. Amino acids strengthen the skin’s immune function, maintain hydration and reduce signs of skin ageing.

Ceramide NP plays an important role in maintaining a healthy skin barrier. A correctly functioning skin barrier ensures the skin can keep irritants out and moisture in, and reduce the reactivity of the skin. Ceramide NP is an exceptionally pure ceramide that closely mimics ceramides found naturally in the skin. It reinforces the skin’s lipid barrier and improves the moisture balance of the skin’s surface.

Purslane Extract is another botanical antioxidant that’s beginning to reveal its secrets. It contains high levels of:

• Omega fatty acid support repair, improve dryness and enhance elasticity.

• Vitamins A, C and E provide antioxidant and other skin benefits.

• Minerals potassium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus support skin health.

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Review

This is the only moisturiser that I have repurchased over and over again… This works best as an everyday moisturiser because I constantly suffer from hormonal acne, hyperpigmentation, redness and sensitivity. Since this is a pretty lightweight cream, people who have dry skin or live in a dry and cold climate might not not find this emollient enough for their skin, but this is the perfect texture and consistency for me because I like to layer up my skincare with different products. I can’t recommend this enough!
